Avril Lavigne LIVE IN JAKARTA 2014!

This. is. a super late post.
I know it's very much April now, but I couldn't help myself, I keep on forgetting stuff! Anyway, better late than never, right? ;;)

So last month, exactly Wednesday, 12th of April 2014, I did one of the craziest things in my life. What was it? Watching Avril Lavigne's concert of course! But wait, where's the crazy part? Here it is: 13th of April was my end-block exam day :)) Hell yea I watched a concert, a day before my big exam #majorlifeachievement

But heyyyy it was Avril Lavigne PLEASEE! I'm her biggest fannn! For starters, I've been listening to her music ever since I was in 5th grade. Back in the era where music was sold in the form of cassettes, not CDs (and now it's sold in digital copies online, I feel so old). Yes that era where Lizzie McGuire rules over Disney Channel. Anyway, it's Avrillll I couldn't help to miss her concerttt!

I've actually been estimating my exam dates before I told my friend to buy the tickets. But it turns out that my estimation...........was wrong.........by one day.........I thought it was gonna be on friday! Dang I missed one dayy. But anyway, my friend bought the tickets already. And truth is, eventhough I knew earlier that the exam was on thursday, I'd still buy the tickets HAHA. So for that payback, I'd have to work extra hard on studying for my exams. Hey the concert wasn't gonna be my reason of failure (if I did, which I didn't, ah this is confusing.)

So by exactly 4pm, I let go of my exam materials, and went to the concert! It was in Istora Senayan, otherwise known as Istora Gelora Bung Karno. I bought the VVIP Festival ticket, and therefore it gives me the privilege of entering the concert hall first by 6pm. I wasn't exactly the first in line, but I was very close to the stage, maybe around the third or fourth line. We got glow sticks, and every other has posters and fancy outfits haha. I was wearing a white t-shirt, with my ripped jeans and converse. Comfy enough to watch a concert, I suppose.

Anyway, the concert started at 8pm. The hall was so full and packed with people, so hard to move around (and breathe). Avril shows up with a really cute outfit, pinkish and hello kitty-ish, but of course still with a touch of emo. I forever love her smokey eyes, just perfect.

I had the EXACT same guitar strap! OMGOMGOMG #fanalert

rock chic!

Oh anyway, here's the setlist for the night:
-Intro Video
-Hello Kitty
-Girlfriend
-Rock n Roll
-Here's To Never Growing Up
-I Always Get What I Want
-Hush Hush
-Let Me Go
-My Happy Ending
-Don't Tell Me
-Complicated
-Bad Girl
-He Wasn't
-Losing Grip
-Sk8er Boi

Encore:
-What The Hell
-Smile
-I'm With You

I'm so frikin happy that she brought up lots of old songs, which I really really love, and I memorized. Fact: I memorized ALL the lyrics from Avril's 2nd (Under My Skin) and 3rd (The Best Damn Thing) album. It sticks in my head even now. I'm a bit unprepared for the concert actually, I wanted to memorize the rest of the songs, especially from her newly released self-titled album this 2014. But I couldn't do it since I had to study study study for the exam :( Well, Avril wouldn't want to see me fail the exam, so I guess she'll understand haha.

My personal favorite from the concerts are Rock n Roll, My Happy Ending, Don't Tell Me, Complicated, and of course, I'm With You! Yeah well I liked her old songs better, but the new songs are also great. My favorite from her new album (aside from Rock n Roll) was Let Me Go (ft. Chad Kroeger). Anyway back to the concert, it was sooo much funn! And the best part was that I get to be frontliners! Directly behind the fences they put up to hold us back haha. You might question how, but hey, it wasn't planned! Turns out that when you watch a concert in the festival section, people move around like crazy. It was like being in an ocean of crowds, waving from one side to another. Luckily, I ended right behind the fence! Ha! Then it was so easyy, you just have to "keeeepppp holdingggg onnnnnnnnnn" to the fence, and enjoy the rest of the concert.

thereby proving I'm right behind the fence HAHA

trying to capture the moment

massive crowds!

I screamed like crazy, and it was very exciting. Adrenaline rushes, I never expected to see her that close! DUDE IT'S LIKE I COULD TOUCH HER! She was so cute and rockish and the same time, and very nice. Best night ever. Best night ever. Best night ever.

Oh and one good thing was, the concert didn't finish up too late. I got home by 11 o'clock, pretty early on my estimation. And I still got some time to study for the test! God is so understanding :') Oh and about the test, hmm, the questions are difficult and the answer is nowhere to be found. So do I regret watching the concert? HELL NO! Say #YOLO people!

and yours truly after the concert #ootd lol

post-concert crowds

Sorry for being overly excited in this post haha. Below are some videos I took from the concert.

Enjoy! ;;)
